The Department of Animal Nutrition delivered an outstanding performance at the Pashu Palan Mela . The team achieved impressive
sales of around 23.0 lakh from high-demand products, including mineral mixture, bypass fat, Uromin lick, and dairy premix—reflecting strong farmer trust in the Vet Varsity’s scientifically developed nutritional solutions.
Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor lauded the department’s efforts, saying, “These farmer-focused services are essential for better feed quality, higher animal productivity, increased farmer earnings, and sustainable livestock growth in Punjab.” The vet varsity’s impactful participation once again highlighted its commitment to bridging advanced science with practical benefits for the farming community.
Dr. J.S. Hundal, Head of Animal Nutrition Department stated that the star attraction was the free feed and fodder sample testing service, which drew hundreds of livestock farmers. They received immediate expert analysis and tailored guidance on feed quality and balanced ration formulation to address nutritional deficiencies, boost animal health, and enhance milk production and farm profitability. Farmers described the initiative as a “real game-changer” for efficient and profitable dairy farming.
Dr. R.S. Grewal, Director of Extension Education, along with other officers of the university, also appreciated the efforts of the department in achieving this milestone.
