The NSS Wing of Directorate of Students’ Welfare, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana,
organized special lecture sessions on the occasion of NSS Day at the Auditorium of the College of Animal Biotechnology. The programme aimed to sensitize students and NS
S volunteers about student safety, responsible citizenship and their duties towards society.
Two informative sessions were organized during the programme. The first lecture on “Zero Tolerance for Ragging: Ensuring Student Safety” was delivered by Dr. Ashish Virk, Director, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana. The second session on “Social Responsibilities and Duties towards Community” was delivered by Dr. Aman Amrit Cheema, 
Professor, University
Institute of Law, Ludhiana.
Vice Chancellor, Dr. JPS Gill, appreciated the initiative and said that such interactive sessions help students understand their responsibilities and encourage them to become responsible members of society.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. S.S. Randhawa, Dean, College of Veterinary Science, emphasized that a safe, respectful and responsible campus environment is essential for the academic and personal development of students. He urged students to uphold discipline, mutual respect and social responsibility in their daily lives.
Dr. J.S. Hundal, Director, Students’ Welfare, stated that NSS provides students with an opportunity to develop a strong sense of social commitment and responsible citizenship. He highlighted the importance of awareness programmes in empowering students to contribute positively to the university and wider community.

essed the importance of maintaining a supportive, inclusive and respectful academic environment.
The programme was attended by NSS Programme Officers, including Dr. Vishal Sharma from College of Animal Biotechnology and Dr. S.S. Hassan from College of Fisheries along with students and NSS volunteers. The sessions concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Anuradha, Head, Department of Anatomy, with an emphasis on collective responsibility, student safety and meaningful community engagement.
