
Students of the College of Animal Biotechnology (CoABT), Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, brought laurels to the University with an impressive performance at a literary congregation organised at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana.
Dr. R. S. Sethi, Dean, CoABT, congratulated the students stating that literary activities provide a
n important platform for developing confidence, critical thinking, communication and leadership skills. Dr. Sethi said that the event was organised under the aegis of the Dr. Surjit Patar Chair and University Speakers’ Forum, PAU which witnessed enthusiastic participation from constituent colleges of PAU and Vet Varsity. Students competed in literary events including debate and elocution, demonstrating their oratory skills, articulation and intellectual acumen.
In the elocution competition, Meharpreet Kaur, a second-year B.Tech. Biotechnology student emerged as the winner, impressing the judges with her confident delivery, effective expression and command over the subject. In the debate competition, Khushal Batra, a final-year B.Tech. Biotechnology student, and Shruti Ralhan, a third-year B.Tech. Biotechnology student, secured the position of First Runners-Up. Shruti Ralhan was also adjudged among the Best Debaters of the event. The students were mentored by Dr. Preetiman Kaur and Mr. Tarun Kapoor, whose guidance contributed significantly to their preparation and success.
Dr. J. P. S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor congratulated the students and faculty, noting that such achievements reflect the University’s commitment to holistic student development beyond academics.
