Dr. M.K. Singh, Principal Scientist, ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Goats (ICAR-CIRG), visited the Beetal Goat field units of
the Regional Research and Training Centre (RRTC), Talwara, to review the progress of the
Beetal goat development programme being implemented under the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Goat Improvement.
During interaction with the farmers and project team, Dr. M.K. Singh suggested the establishment of multiplier flocks in field units for the production and subsequent distribution of improved breeding stock among other farmers. This approach would help accelerate the genetic improvement and expansion of the Beetal goat population in the project area. He further emphasized the need to provide suitable assistance to farmers for the upgradation and renovation of existing farm infrastructure to improve housing and overall management conditions.
