Vet Varsity Scientists win prestigious Fellowships at International Conference

Dr. Vinod Kumar Dumka, Prof-cum-Head and Dr. Rajdeep Kaur, Toxicologist, Department of Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, have been conferred with the ‘Fellow Society of Toxicology (FST)’ Award for their outstanding contributions in the field of Toxicology at the International Conference on Breakthrough in Toxicology and Human Health and 39th Annual Conference of Society of Toxicology held at Jiwaji University, Gwalior. Every year the society felicitates a maximum of two fellows and both the fellowships for the year 2019 have been bagged by the GADVASU scientists. The fellows elected are privileged to use “FST” as STOX- approved academic title of distinction in Toxicology. Dr Rajdeep Kaur is the youngest recipient of this honour since the inception of the Society in 1979.

STOX, India is affiliated to the International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX). It is one of the prestigious scientific societies of the country and is represented by distinguished Toxicologists, Chemists, Biochemists, Pharmacologists, Entomologists, Zoologists, Medical Professionals, Veterinarians, Environmentalists and academicians of allied disciplines sharing a common platform to foster the progress and development of all aspects of Toxicology.

During this International Conference the contributions of Dr. Dumka and Dr Rajdeep Kaur for the society were recognized and the society also felicitated both the scientists of GADVASU with the prestigious national award. The award was presented by Dr. S. K. Rao, VC, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University, Gwalior, Dr. Alok Dhawan, Director, IITR and Prof. Sangeeta Shukla, VC, Jiwaji University, Gwalior. This laurel is another feather in the cap of GADVASU reflecting high standards of education and research and excellent leadership.

Vice Chancellor, GADVASU, Dr A. S. Nanda, Director of Research, Dr J. P. S. Gill and Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, congratulated the fellows for this great achievement.
