Vet Varsity places Dean, Controller of Examinations and Librarian

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana (GADVASU) authorities assign new responsibilities to Dr. Ramneek, Dr. A.K. Arora and Dr. Suresh Kumar Sharma.

Dr. Ramneek will serve as Dean, College of Dairy Science and Technology.  Earlier he served as Director, College of Animal Biotechnology. He received his B.V.Sc. and M.V.Sc. from PAU and Ph.D. from Lincoln University, Christchurch, New Zealand under NZODA Fellowship. He also won Lincoln University Fund of Excellence for Research. He has more than 25 yrs. experience in teaching and research. He has more than 100 international and national research publications to his credit and has been conferred with number of Best Research presentation awards by professional scientific societies in India & Abroad. Widely travelled Dr. Ramneek attended various national and international conferences/symposia/workshops/ trainings/refresher courses and delivered invited lectures. He has successfully organized two Winter Schools sponsored by ICAR as Director and, two International workshops/trainings in collaboration with University of Saskatchewan, Canada as Organizing Secretary and also  has been the Member, Secretary of IBSC of the University since 2017.

Dr. Anil Kumar Arora has been appointed as the Controller of Examinations. His field of specialization is Veterinary Microbiology. Dr. Arora is recipient of Commonwealth post-doctoral fellowship at RDSVS, Edinburgh, UK. Dr. Arora had been associated with multifarious research activities. He has been instrumental in establishing the molecular biology lab in the department. He was the Principal Investigator of the ICAR sponsored All India Network Program on Haemorrhagic Septicaemia for more than 10 years. Currently he is leading a prestigious ICAR Niche Area of excellence programme in Antimicrobial resistance. Besides, he had been the Co-investigator in more than 17 research projects funded by different national and international agencies. He has more than 100 publications to his credit. Dr. Arora is recipient of the University Best Teacher Award, University Best Researcher Award besides several other awards at the conferences.

Dr. Suresh Kumar Sharma will work as Librarian of Varsity. Dr. Sharma has done his graduation and post-graduation from PAU. He was earlier Professor-cum-Head, Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology. He has 27 years of experience in teaching, research and extension. He has been associated with various research projects funded by CSIR, UGC, CCRAS, RKVY and Punjab Govt.  During his tenure as Head of the Department, Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India has set up ‘Collaborative Research Centre for Veterinary Ayurveda’ at GADVASU, first of its kind in India. In recognition of his outstanding teaching contributions, University had conferred ‘Best Teacher Award’ in 2017.
