Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) celebrated field day at village Tajpura under the supervision of Associate Director, Dr. Parminder Singh. The purpose of the programme was to show the performance of next crop after management of paddy residues in the field. Wheat crop stand was very good which was sown through super seeder. KVK experts Dr. Harmeet Kaur and Dr. Vikas Phulia guided the farmers to monitor their wheat and sarson crop regularly for pest attack (yellow rust and aphid attack on wheat; white rust and aphid attack in sarson). They also shared ways to manage such problems. Village farmers also shared their experiences with KVK experts regarding crop residue management. Instead of residue burning they performed In-situ management of paddy residues and sow wheat, sarson and other vegetables. On this occasion progressive farmers S. Bhupinder Singh, S. Satinder Pal Singh and S. Charanjit Singh were present.
