Krishi Vigyan Kendra Booh, Tarn Taran in collaboration with State Bank of India organized credit linkage programme entitled "Krishi Rinn Samagam" at KVK, campus. Sh. Kulwant Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Tarn Taran, Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director Extension Education, GADVASU, Ludhiana and Sh. Chander Shekhar Sharma, General Manager, State Bank of India graced the occasion. During this programme, loan sanction letters were handed over to 100 agriculture and livestock farmers to the tune of Rs.3.25 Crores by Deputy Commissioner and other officials. Krishi Vigyan Kendra provides training to unemployed youth in the field of Dairy, Piggery, Poultry, Fisheries and other allied enterprise. This is the first time in the state that KVK and SBI jointly took initiative to provide trainings and loans for starting different agriculture and livestock venture. Bank has provided loans to the customers having completed the training successfully in various fields from KVK, Booh.
Deputy Commissioner, Tarn Taran appreciated the KVK and Bank efforts for taking such initiative and guided the farmers to avail Bank's facilities to increase their livelihood. KVK, Tarn Taran is leading KVK in north India for providing various kind of facilities to the farmers, said DC. Sh. Sharma, State Bank of India assured the public that bank is serving to the society and will support agriculture and other allied activities. Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Extension Education, GADVASU addressed the gathering and emphasized that unemployed youth have great career opportunities in the livestock sector with scientific technologies available at KVK and GADVASU, Ludhiana. He apprised that KVK, Booh is taking agricultural trainings and social service to new heights for which team led by Dr. Balwinder Kumar deserves appreciation.
