Numerous activities under this programme were conducted to aware the livestock farmers about the importance of animal nutrition. Staff of Krishi Vigyan Kendra actively participated in the programme. Dr. Inderjeet Singh,Vice-Chancellor, GADVASU addressed the livestock farmers in context of optimisation of livestock nutrition. He informed that in any livestock rearing venture, almost 70% of the total recurring expenditure occurs on animal nutrition. Despite of this fact, the farmers fail to provide well balanced ration to their animals. Further, Dr Singh discussed in details about the role of mineral mixture, uromin licks and bypass fat in livestock. Dr. Balwinder Kumar, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran addressed the farmers regarding scientific silage making. Dr Suresh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Livestock Production informed about Non-conventional feed resources for livestock and he also discussed about the importance of Total mixed ration TMR in dairy animals.
