Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana is holding its second Convocation on 20th April, 2022, Wednesday at Pal Auditorium, PAU Campus, Ludhiana. His Excellency, the Governor of Punjab, Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Chancellor of the University will chair the function. Dr. Umesh Chandra Sharma, President, Veterinary Council of India shall be the Guest of Honour on this occasion.
Dr H S Banga, Registrar, GADVASU informed that the students will assemble for rehearsal on 19th April, 2022 at 9.00 AM in the Pal Auditorium. The students who have completed their programme of studies and whose results have been notified on or after 01.04.2021 will be conferred respective degrees. The degrees will be awarded for programmes in Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Veterinary Science, Master of Dairy Science & Technology, Master of Fisheries Science, Master of Veterinary Science/ Master of Science (Biotechnology), Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Bachelor of Dairy Science & Technology, Bachelor of Fisheries Science and Bachelor of Biotechnology. A total of 24 gold medals shall also be awarded to the meritorious students for their performance in their respective programme and for excelling at university level.
On the occasion, honorary degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) will also be conferred to Shri Tarun Shridhar, retired IAS & Member (Administrative), Central Administrative Tribunal for his commendable contribution for uplifting Livestock and Fisheries Sector.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University opined that having such luminaries at the convocation will not only grace the occasion but also be a moral booster for students to excel further in their areas of specialization to serve the speechless animals and help the society at large.
