The Centre for One Health, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University celebrated the World
Antimicrobial Awareness Week. During this week-long celebration, the Centre organized many of the educational and awareness related activities on antimicrobial
resistance among the university student
s. Dr. Jasbir Sing Bedi, Director, Centre for One Health, briefed about the mandate of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week and motivated the students to carry forward the message of antimicrobial awareness to the community level. Dr. Randhir Singh, Professor and organizing secretary, emphasized on the judicious use of antimicrobial in human and animal health, and how the 
antimicrobial resistance should be tackled in One Health framework. During this event, the guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Souvik Ghosh, Professor, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, St. Kitts & Nevis. Dr. Randhir and his team coordinated various programs for students including extempore, poster competition, rangoli contest on this year theme of “Preventing Antimicrobial Resistance Together”. The students from various disciplines of the university participated in these contests and came up with innovative methods and arts for community awareness on antimicrobial resistance. Dr. Randhir congratulated all the participants and urged them to carry on such activities throughout the year.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, appreciated the efforts of all the team members of Centre for One Health for organizing these week-long informative events on antimicrobial resistance awareness.
