Vet Varsity organizes Workshop on ‘Meditation for Excellence in Totality’

More than 100 volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS) of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, (GADVASU) Ludhiana attended three days’ workshop on ‘Meditation for Excellence in Totality’ while celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The volunteers got exposed to a blend of meditative activities and games that included teaching and practising of pranayam and brief lectures on varied subjects.  Students from College of dairy science and technology, College of fisheries, College of animal biotechnology and College of veterinary science attended the workshop.
Dr. Nidhi Sharma, NSS Programme Coordinator informed that three master classes on meditation, rejuvenation and inner connect were conducted during the workshop. Online visual teaching and performing meditation by the spiritual leader, Padma Bhushan Sh. Kamlesh D. Patel, was also played.
Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Students’ Welfare revealed that the resource person for the Workshop was Brig. Kuljit Singh (veteran) from Heartfulness, Chandigarh who guided students by engaging them in various games to build their concentration in very innovative ways. Sister Neera and Sister Shubhdeep from Heartfulness centre Ludhiana joined among other volunteers. 
Dr. Yashpal Singh Malik, Dean, College of Animal biotechnology, was the guest of honour on the first day.
Master class on rejuvenation was held on day 2 wherein students played games like standing in a queue and a non-verbal message was conveyed from one to another resulting in distortion of information till the final stage. Dr RS Sethi, Dean, College of Dairy science and technology, was the guest of honour. 
On the final day of the workshop, after the masterclass on inner connect, Brig. Kuljit Singh, sister Neera and Sister Shubhdeep were honoured with a Memento and a shawl to express gratitude by the NSS wing of the university. 
Dr. CS Mukhopadhyay and Dr. Sivakumar NSS Program Officers ensured that students maintained discipline while doing Pranayams and learning meditation.
