Seven day NSS Special Winter camp starts at Veterinary Varsity

More than 100 volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS) of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana became a part of the inauguration of a week-long national Special Winter camp. The camp was focused on the spirit of elections and motivate society to have mass voting during the ongoing Vidhan Sabha elections in Punjab. The seven day camp was inaugurated by Mr. J K Jain, District Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Punjab with volunteers getting exposure from him to make a vote and exercise their right to vote. 
NSS coordinator Nidhi Sharma revealed that the camp with a theme "Mat nu Banao Bahumat” had participants carry out a special signature drive in campus in the afternoon session. “The ongoing 7 day campaign includes making all the voters aware of their right to vote, taking awareness rallies in the nearby villages besides participation in a human chain to promote voting on the concluding day”. 
 
Dr. Satyavan Rampal, DSW-cum-EO, encouraged students to put in their best possible efforts in a friendly manner and become responsible citizens of the country and in making this 7 day programme a great success.
 
During the week awareness programmes on elections and digital voting/economy would be conducted by the experts who would dwell upon the various issues related to Vidhan Sabha elections apart from poster making competitions, declamation and debate on the camp theme.
