58 Cadets undergoing the Annual Training Camp at 1 Punjab R & V Sqn NCC assisted the local traffic authorities in traffic control at various places in Ludhiana. The cadets underwent a detailed workshop on traffic control conducted at the Camp by the Education Department of the Punjab Police on 07th Oct 2010.
They were deployed in groups of 3-4 cadets at various places in Ludhiana. The cadets were deployed at various places like Aarti Chowk Bhai Wala Chowk, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Pakhowal Road, Jagraon Bridge, Hero bakery Chowk etc. The cadets controlled traffic at evening peak hours for about 3hrs from 1700 hrs to 2000 Hrs.
The Cadets controlled traffic and also advised the civilians to obey traffic rules. Cadets also explained that it was only for the safety of each.
Maj MM Madhusudan, Officer Commanding, 1 Punjab R&V Sqn NCC, said that the cadets were very much thrilled about the service that they had done and also the camp had given them a treasure of memories which otherwise they could never have had experienced.
