Dr. Parminder Singh did his BSc Agri. (Hons) in Animal Science, MSc and PhD in Animal Nutrition from PAU, Ludhiana in the year 1988, 1992 and 2003 respectively. He was awarded University Merit scholarship during BSc & MSc. He captained PAU Cricket team in session 1985-86 for North Zone intervarsity tournament. He is qualified Cricket Umpire under the panel of Punjab Cricket Association. He worked briefly for M/s Pfizer Ltd before joining university in the year 1993 as Assistant professor Animal Science Extension (Nutrition). He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2003 and subsequently to Professor in 2014 under CAS.
He has taught 54 UG and 28 PG courses in LPM, Animal Nutrition and Veterinary and AH Extension. He has published 54 research articles and more than 400 popular articles. He has guided six MVSc and two PhD students as Major Advisor. He has seven chapters in books, one audio cassette published by university. He developed three manuals for UG teaching. He acted as external examiner/paper setter/evaluator for various courses for different institutes. He is Joint Secretary of Animal Nutrition Society of India. He is member of executive committee of Poultry Science Association and Society of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension.
He has coordinated 36 poultry, 17 dairy, 9 pig and 2 rabbit trainings conducted by university and has delivered more than 500 experts lectures. He was also in charge of monthly meetings of dairy, layer and broiler farmers associations. He also conducted 32 Cattle Feed Millers trainings as coordinator in which 1460 entrepreneurs participated from 2009 to 2016.
He acted as Nodal Officers of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana for Sambandh Portal to depict various extension and social activities of the University for the information of worthy Chancellor and Governor of Punjab.
He was bestowed CLFMA Award in 2016 for his contribution in the field of Dairy Nutrition at Kolkata.
