CAFT Training in Veterinary Pathology Concludes at GADVASU

The 21 CAFT training programme entitled Amalgamation of Conventional and Advanced Diagnostic Approaches in Veterinary Pathology: A Key to Precise Diagnosis in an Evolving Scenario in Veterinary Pathology sponsored by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi was successfully completed at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU). The training was held from January 28 to February 17, 2026. The training drew enthusiastic participation from trainees across India. Participants from 11 states attended the programme, where they received comprehensive exposure to both conventional and advanced diagnostic techniques in veterinary pathology. Dean, Post Graduate studies and Dean, COVS, Ludhiana presided over the valedictory function where they released the compendium and distributed the completion certificate to the participants.
During the training, apart from lectures of the faculty, scientific experts was also invited from from premier institutions including NDVSU Jabalpur, ICAR-NIVEDI, Bengaluru, Central Agricultural University and Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute. In addition to theoretical sessions, the programme emphasized practical learning through extensive hands-on training in conventional as well as modern diagnostic methodologies.
Trainees shared highly positive feedback, describing the Department of Veterinary Pathology at GADVASU as a “temple of pathology” in veterinary sciences and appreciating the depth of knowledge and practical skills they acquired during the course.
The Dean, Post Graduate Studies and ICAR Nodal Officer of CAFT, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Uppal congratulated the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to effectively apply the learned techniques in their respective institutions. The Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana, Dr. S.S. Randhawa commended the faculty and staff of the Department of Veterinary Pathology for their scholarly efforts and motivated the trainees to replicate and disseminate the advanced practices they observed during the training.
Dr. Kuldip Gupta, Director of the training programme, expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, ICAR, all trainees, and the departmental staff for their collective contribution toward the successful conduct of the programme. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. J. P. S. Gill, applauded the trainees for their commitment to professional development despite being away from home and lauded the Department of Veterinary Pathology for providing an excellent academic and learning environment throughout the duration of the training.
