Teaching and Other Appointments

  • Involved in under-graduate, post-graduate and PhD teaching in the field of surgery, anaesthesia and diagnostic imaging.
  • Involved in imparting training to interns in the field of surgery and radiology.
  • Established equine colic, reproductive surgery unit equipped with modern surgery and anesthesia facilities for horses. In this unit teaching, research on equine surgery is undertaken.
  • Established small animal dentistry unit as principal investigator having modern facilities for UG and PG training in small animal endodontics and prosthodontics. This unit was funded by an extramural project from Department of Biotechnology New Delhi.
  • Anand A and Singh SS (2020) authored and editor of a book “A practical approach to diagnosis and management of equine colic” by Jaya Publishing house New Delhi. This book will practical knowledge to UG, PG and field veterinarians regarding applied equine GIT anatomy, physical and clinical examination of colicy horse, decision making in colic, medical and surgical management of colic and postoperative care.

  • Principal investigator in a project entitled “Development and clinical application of biomaterials for root canal treatment and crown therapy in dogs” funded by Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi.
  • Cleared North America Veterinary Licensing examination and clinical proficiency examination to register with American Veterinary Medical Association. Currently registered with Michigan State Board of Veterinarians.

Area of Research Interests

  • Equine reproductive surgery: working on reproductive injuries due to foaling, perineal affections and equine dystocia. 
  • Equine Colic Surgery: Principal investigator of a project sponsored by Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna entitled “Clinical studies on diagnosis and surgical management of abdominal and reproductive disorders in equine”. Under this project diagnostic & prognostic indicators for abdominal & reproductive disorders are being established. State of art anaesthetic and surgical facility for equine established under this project imparting service to military & paramilitary forces, police, equine breeders & persons depending on horses for their livelihood.
  • Small Animal Dentistry: Principal investigator of a project sponsored by Department of Biotechnology New Delhi entitled “Development and clinical application of biomaterials for root canal treatment and crown therapy in dogs”. This project helped to establish restorative Veterinary dentistry in India.
