NRI/OCI seats (additional): Maximum of two seats in Master’s programme and maximum of one seat in Ph.D. programme may be filled in each discipline under NRI/OCI category
In Master’s programme, maximum of two additional seats and in Ph.D. programme maximum of one seat may be filled in each discipline under Self-financed category in College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana.
There will be two additional seats in M.Tech. (DT) and one seat each in other disciplines of the Master’s programme of College of Dairy Science and Technology, Ludhiana under Self-financed category.
There will be one additional seat under self-financed category in each Master’s discipline in College of Fisheries and College of Animal Biotechnology.
One additional seat for Kashmiri migrants in each undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of constituent colleges.
In Master’s programme, one additional seat under Kashmiri Migrant category may be allotted as per the choice of the candidate. However, the same subject where the students have opted earlier in Kashmiri Migrant category, shall be allowed only after a gap of three years.
One additional seat under Sportspersons/NCC Cadets category is reserved in Master’s programme of College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana as mentioned at Sr. No. 4.1.2(1). This seat may be allotted as per choice of the candidate. However, the same subject where the students have opted earlier in Sportspersons/NCC Cadets category, shall be allowed only after a gap of three years. Other rules and guidelines as mentioned elsewhere in the prospectus will remain the same.
In Master’s programmes, not more than one candidate, out of the Sportspersons/NCC Cadets and Kashmiri migrants will be admitted in any one discipline as per the merit list among these categories of eligible candidates. However, preference will be given to Sportspersons/NCC Cadets category.
In postgraduate (Master’s and Ph.D.) programmes, one additional seat in each discipline may be filled under in-service category.
All the programmes of the university are full time residential programmes except specific PG Diploma, Certificate and Short courses. A student, therefore, cannot be admitted to more than one programme at a time in this or any other university.
Admission to all the programmes except PG Diploma, Certificate and Short Courses in the university is made by the Registrar on the recommendation of the Counselling/Selection Committee.
The admission obtained by a candidate due to misrepresentation/concealment of facts or admission made due to error/oversight at university level, can be cancelled at any stage.
Seats remaining vacant under ‘Other States’ category will be converted into general category for filling on merit from all other eligible candidates.
The fee structure and number of seats in any programme and category can be changed by the competent authority without any notice.
The Academic Council of the University is the supreme authority to frame rules and regulations, and to decide all other matters relating to admissions and academic affairs. The Academic Council also has the right to promote or discontinue any programme and also to increase or decrease seats in any programme, whatsoever
