Department of Dairy Technology is one of the core departments of College of Dairy Science & Technology. The departments’ thrust areas of research include functional and value added food products, composite foods, nanotechnology, food fortification, by-products utilization, dried products, cheese and fermented dairy products, novel packaging, high-end characterization of milk and milk products, new product developments, and strategy & policy framing for dairy/ food agency and government agency, etc.
Since
its inception, the department of dairy technology is contributing in all its
mandated spheres including market-ready quality human resource development,
technology development and dissemination, consultancy services to farmers,
entrepreneur(s), dairy/ food industry, government & private agencies.
Department is also regularly fetching the services to the progressive farmers
and budding entrepreneurs by organizing need based extension training
programmes.
