The Department of Animal Biotechnology was established on 26th April 2018 in the College of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana. The mandate of the Department is teaching, research and extension in the field of Animal Biotechnology. The department caters to the teaching requirements at undergraduate and Postgraduate level to the students of College of Animal Biotechnology as recommended by the ICAR. The department also carries out postgraduate programs at masters and doctorate levels in Animal Biotechnology. The department has state of the art well equipped laboratories to run undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research programs effectively. The research focus of the department is aimed for advanced research in various facets of animal biotechnology and application of available technologies in areas of cell and molecular biology for the improvement of animal health and production. The research carried out in the department is disseminated to users and farmers as a part of extension activity.
