Brief Introduction :
Dr R S Sethi, Professor, took over the charge of Head, Department of Animal Biotechnology, School of Animal Biotechnology in July 2018. He joined as Assistant Professor in July 1997 and serving as full Professor since 2012. He is actively involved in administration, teaching, research, extension and infrastructural development activities of the School of Animal Biotechnology.
Dr. Sethi's research program is on airway hyper-responsiveness and inflammation. The ongoing projects are focused on pulmonary immune-modulations following exposure to various environmental pollutants specially pesticides. He has guided 06 MVSc/MSc and 04 PhD students and is presently supervising 02 MSc and 03 PhD students. He has published 80 research articles in various national and international level research journals. Dr Sethi got extramural research grants funding from Indian Counsil of Medical Research (ICMR) and University Grants Commission, New Delhi. He is teaching various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the School of Animal Biotechnology.
He has won various awards including Short term visiting fellowship from American Association of Anatomists, DBT international travel grant and number of best poster and paper presentation awards during national and international events. He is Fellow of Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists. Dr Sethi served as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Saskatchewan (UoS), Canada and playing instrumental role in the collaborative research projects of UoS and GADVASU and in Integrated Training Program in Infectious Diseases, Food Safety and Public Policy (ITraP). He is a life member of number of professional societies and referee of National/International journals.
