LIVESTOCK-PRODUCTS-TECHNOLOGY--COVS-RAMPURA-PHUL

Department of Livestock Products Technology at College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul was established in year 2021. The Department has the mandate of teaching, research and extension activities in the area of Livestock Products Technology. Currently, the Department offers various courses to undergraduate students of BVSc & AH and Diploma in Vet. Science & Animal Health Technology. Major thrust area of Department are value addition of meat and milk, utilization of dairy and meat industry by-products, egg technology and wool Science. There are three faculty members in the Department- Dr OP Malav is working as Associate Professors and Incharge of the Department, Dr Sandeep Singh and Dr Mehak Jandyal are working as Assistant Professors.  
Department have well equipped dairy technology and meat technology laboratories. Department also have the facilities of small scale poultry slaughtering, detection of milk adulteration, processing of milk and meat into different value added products and their quality evaluation. The Department also have the basic infrastructure, manpower and other facilities for organising the hand-on-training /entrepreneurship development programmes for farmers, entrepreneurs and students in the area of detection of adulteration of milk, preparation of meat nuggets, meat patties, meat sausages, meat balls/kofta, meat pickle, restructured meat products, snack based meat products, milk panner, flavoured milk drinks and health oriented value added products. The Department is actively engaged in different extension activities such as dissemination of knowledge about the entrepreneurship opportunities in the value addition of livestock products (meat, milk and eggs).
